A modular cooling tower comprised of a plurality of separable modules 1 mounted one on top of the other supported by means of internal, external, radial flange 5 and/or rebate with each module 1 serving a distinct role or function within the tower, such as coolant distribution, air intake, sump. The plurality of modules 1 may be separable by means of radial flange 5 and/or rebate on the upper and/or lower edges of the interconnecting modules 1 and may be held together by any means, including a simple strap or clip device. The modules 1 may be circular, triangular, square, rectangular, hexagonal or any other convenient shape and may be constructed from any suitable material, such as wood, fibreglass, metal, plastics or concrete.
