The invention relates to a stabiliser bar (1') for a motor vehicle, comprising a one-piece torsion bar (5') which is rotatably fixed to a vehicle frame (3) and is connected to two opposing wheel suspensions (4') of the same axis of the vehicle. Said torsion bar comprises a torsion region for the flexible coupling of spring movements of the opposing wheel suspensions (4'). The inventive stabiliser bar (1') also comprises a first torsion tube (8') which surrounds the one-piece torsion bar (5') at least in a first part (B') of its torsion region. The first end (8a') of said torsion tube is connected to the one-piece torsion bar (5') in a rotationally fixed manner, and the second end (8b') of the torsion tube can be connected to the one-piece torsion bar (5') in a selectively rotationally fixed manner by means of a coupling system (9'), in such a way that the torsional rigidity of the stabiliser bar (1') can be modified.
