The method involves using an entity-relationship generator (10) and a program code generator (12). The entity-relationship generator generates a logical data model (22) based on the relational structure of input data (14,16,18). The program code generator combines all input data into an overall table (22) based on the logical data model and the overall table is then divided and/or compressed into individual tables (24,26,28) for data marts. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: an arrangement for automatically generating a data warehouse, a data file structure or data logic, a business structure or subject logic and processing logic.
