SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing derivatives of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine that can be used in production of medicinal preparation +ACI-Mexidol+ACI-. Invention describes method for preparing derivatives of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine involving treatment of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3- hydroxypyridine with acid where succinic acid is used as an acid. Treatment is carried out in polar solvent at 60-90 C and in the mass ratio 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine, succinic acid and solvent +AD0- 1.1:(1.2-1.0): (2.5-4.5), respectively. EFFECT: improved and simplified preparing method.
