PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a hair cosmetic containing a protein hydrolyzate or a derivative thereof, enabling the hair to be finished in smooth and pliable touch through imparting the hair with good gloss and moist feeling, and also scarcely feeling animal odor such as the cases in conventional hair cosmetics compounded with bovine- or porcine-derived collagen hydrolyzate or a derivative thereof or wool-derived keratin hydrolyzate or a derivative thereof.
