PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a continuous paper from getting out of place from a tractor when the continuous paper is back out-transferred. SOLUTION: In the method for transferring the continuous paper of the recorder in which the continuous paper carried out from the tractor is transferred to the side of a discharge unit through in a paper route formed between a ribbon mask holder set at a carriage and a platen, in the middle of a back out transfer process where the continuous paper is transferred oppositely from the discharge unit to the tractor side (S5-S8 and S12-S15), an operation (S9-S11) is included for transferring the continuous paper forward from the tractor to the discharge unit side.
