PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of collecting sand. SOLUTION: This is a device for screening sand (b) from earth, sand and the like (a) in such a way that the earth, sand and the like (a) sucked up from the bottom of the sea, rivers, lakes, dams or the like are poured onto a mesh screen 20 to flow from its one end toward the other end so that sand (b) may fall through meshes of the mesh screen 20. A pair of mesh screens 30a, 30b for collecting sand are further installed at the front and rear sides respectively in a discharge shoot S<SB>2</SB>for the earth, sand and the like from the mesh screen 20, and sand is collected at the mesh screens 30a, 30b by setting the mesh sizes of the pair of mesh screens 30a, 30b large enough to collect sand of the predetermined sizes. Thereby the collecting efficiency is improved since a larger amount of sand is collected by one pass as compared with conventional methods. Sand of a larger size, sand of a smaller size, earth and the like are discharged through a passage S<SB>3</SB>or pass it to be discharged to the sea or like respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
