PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manually operated clothespole lifting device which enables most of persons including persons of advanced age and physically handi capped persons to manually dry clothes with ease, simplicity and safety, is compact and has such a high practicability to enable the persons to create the effective space in a verandah in particular. SOLUTION: The lifting device consists mainly, as shown in Figure 1, of a hoisting changeover type lifting controller, a swinging pulley unit, a single pulley unit, a compound pulley unit, wire ropes, and clothespoles and is so arranged that the two clothespoles from one set of the lifting controller can be freely, easily and manually lifted with good balance. The lifting controller is provided with an automatic locking mechanism so as to prevent the clothespoles from being lowered by the weight of the wash. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
