SOLUTION: The method for producing the oxygen-introduced rare earth- activated alkaline earth metal fluorohalde photostimulable phosphor represented by general formula (1) Ba<SB>1-x</SB>(M<SB>2</SB>)<SB>x</SB>FBr<SB>y</SB>I<SB>1-y</SB>: aM<SB>1</SB>, bLn, cO (1) [wherein, M<SB>1</SB>denotes Li, Na, K, Rb or Cs; M<SB>2</SB>denotes Be, Mg, Sr and Ca; Ln denotes Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Tm, Dy, Ho, Nd, Er and Yb; and x, y, a, b and c denote each 0≤x≤0.3; 0<y≤0.3; 0≤a≤0.05; 0<b≤0.2; and 0<c≤0.1] comprises preadding a reducing agent solution to a reactional mother liquor.
