PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire electric discharge machine superior in workability. SOLUTION: An upper end part and a lower end part of a sleeve 6 accommodated inside of a work tank 1 are respectively provided with a hole 20 and a hole 21 for connecting the inside of the sleeve 6 and the inside of the work tank 1. The working fluid 18 is discharged to the external from a clearance 10c through the holes 20, 21 in working. After the termination of the working, a large amount of working fluid rapidly flows inside of the sleeve 6 from the hole 20, and flows out from the hole 21 through the clearance 10b, so that the sludge is not accumulated inside of the sleeve 6.
