PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for rolled steel whereby the scale separation in the rolling and levelling steps is eliminated without lowering the production efficiency and rolled steel excellent in external appearance, coatability, etc., can be produced. SOLUTION: A steel bloom containing 0.05-0.20 mass% C, 0.6 mass% or lower Si, 0.3-1.6 mass% Mn, 0.06 mass% or lower Al, 0.1-1.0 mass% Cr, 0.02 mass% or lower P, 0.02 mass% or lower S, 0.02 mass% or lower N, and the balance substantially being Fe is heated and subjected to hot rolling, then to final descaling at 960°C or lower, and to the termination of rolling in the temperature range of 700-960°C. In the cooling step after the rolling, cooling is conducted at an average cooling speed in the range of 0.05-0.5°C/sec in the temperature range of 600-400°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
