PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting device for a side ditch block, which can be lifted down and inserted into the side ditch block from its upper opening without working on the side ditch block, can lift up the side ditch block through simple operation, thereby enabling lifting-up/down operation while ensuring slipout preventive engagement thereof, and therefore can carry out the lifting-up/down operation of the slide ditch block having the narrow upper opening in a very simple and efficient manner. SOLUTION: The lifting device is available for lifting a block body B which has the upper opening 2 narrower in width than an inner hollow portion 1 thereof. According to the lifting device for the side ditch, a plurality of block engaging portions 3 to be inserted into the inner hollow portion 1 from the upper opening 2 are vertically rotatably disposed on a body portion 4 at an interval. After insertion of the block engaging portions 3, they are rotated by predetermined degrees and kept in a slipout prevented state, whereby the lifting device is set to a lifted and engaged shape or state.
