PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and useful glenoid cavity increasing constituting element and to provide a method for fixing the glenoid cavity increasing constituting element to a glenoid cavity surface of a scapula. SOLUTION: The glenoid cavity increasing constituting element 10 for fixing to the glenoid cavity surface 12 of the scapula 14 so as to impart a support surface to a head of a humerus comprises a body having a first surface formed to be brought into contact with the glenoid cavity surface of the scapula and a second surface formed to house the head 20 of the humerus 18. Further, the glenoid cavity increasing constituting element comprises an intermittent part without butt or the like extended from the body. The intermittent part is formed to house in a notch 13 of a similar shape formed in the glenoid cavity surface of the scapula. The intermittent part is useful to prevent a joint component from moving to the glenoid cavity surface of the scapula after its implantation. The body may include an anchor extended from the body for penetrating through the glenoid cavity surface of the scapula so as to be useful to fix the body to the glenoid cavity surface of the scapula.
