PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cyclic amide transition metal complex having a bleaching activation ability, a bleaching catalyst composed of the complex and a bleaching agent composition having sufficient bleaching effects even at low temperatures, slight dye bleaching and fiber deteriorating properties and excellent preventing effects on color migration of fibers. SOLUTION: The cyclic amide transition metal complex is represented by formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>denote each H, a 1-16C hydrocarbon group or a perfluoroalkyl group or a halogen atom; R<SP>7</SP>denotes H or a 1-18C alkyl group; R<SP>8</SP>denotes a 1-17C hydrocarbon group except methyl group or a perfluoroalkyl group which may be substituted; M denotes a transition metal; L denotes a ligand; and Q denotes a counterion]. The bleaching catalyst is composed of the complex. The bleaching agent composition comprises the bleaching catalyst and a peroxy bleaching agent selected from hydrogen peroxide, a peroxide producing the hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution or an organic peracid.
