PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new organic compound used for an electric charge- transporting material for a photosensitive material of an electrophotography, the electron-transporting material and a light-generating material of an organic electric field light-generating element, or various organic semiconductor elements, and to provide methods for producing them. SOLUTION: A new aromatic methylidene compound is expressed by formula (1) (R<SB>11</SB>is a non-substituted or substituted alkyl or alkoxy, a halogen, cyano or nitro; n<SB>11</SB>is 0-4; and R<SB>21</SB>, R<SB>31</SB>are each H, a non-substituted or substituted alkyl, a non-substituted or substituted cycloalkyl, a non-substituted or substituted aromatic group, a non-substituted or substituted aromatic heterocyclic ring group, or R<SB>21</SB>and R<SB>31</SB>together form a condensed ring of the non-substituted or substituted aromatic ring or a condensed ring of the non-substituted or substituted aromatic heterocyclic ring), and a methylstyryl compound for producing the same is obtained, and the methods for producing them are provided.
