PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing device by CO<SB>2</SB>particles, friendly to environment and more improved in a sterilizing function, and a sterilizing method by CO<SB>2</SB>particles. SOLUTION: The sterilizing device by CO<SB>2</SB>particles is the one for sterilizing film-like packaging goods 4. The device includes a chamber 1, first and second CO<SB>2</SB>particle generating nozzles 8 and 9, both being disposed in the chamber 1 to generate and inject CO<SB>2</SB>particles, first and second siphon system CO<SB>2</SB>cylinders 12 and 13 for feeding CO<SB>2</SB>to the nozzles through siphons 10 and 11, respectively, a roll 15 for untreated packaging goods, around which the untreated film-like packaging goods 4 are wound, and a roll 16 for treated packaging goods, which takes up the film-like packaging goods fed into the chamber and injected with the CO<SB>2</SB>particles through the nozzles. The device further includes exhaust pumps 6 and 7 for sucking microorganisms existing in the chamber. With the aid of the exhaust pumps, the microorganisms can be prevented from being parasited again on the packaging goods. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
