PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for car having a small occupied space in a cabin and installable in both right-hand and left-hand steering cars. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for car comprises an air blower 18 for blowing air conditioning air, an evaporator 28 allowing air to be led from the air blower 18 therein, cooling the air, and sending the air upward, a heating heat exchanger 46 for heating the air above the evaporator 28, and blow mode switching parts 52, 56, and 62 disposed on the air downstream side of the heat exchanger 46, heated by the heat exchanger 46, and switching the blowing direction of the temperature-controlled air.
