PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a low-cost building member covered on a surface with a design sheet molded product made of a synthetic resin or an interior finishing material. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the low-cost building member or the interior finishing material comprises the steps of placing the design sheet (1) made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin on a molding surface (2A) of the mold (2) for molding having the molding surface (2A) having predetermined rugged patterns (2a, 2b) formed on a surface of a woody material or a heat resistant porous resin in a soft state, sucking to deaerate the mold (2) from its rear surface side in this state to deaerate between the sheet (1) and the molding surface (2A) of the mold (2) to form the sheet (1) to a design sheet molded product (1A) of a predetermined shape along the molding surface (2A), cooling the product (1A), removing the product (1A) from the mold (2), and mounting the product on the surface of the building member body or the interior finishing member body (11).
