<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engaging device having a special function for an automo bile engagable to an other automobile during use and enabling an occupant to escape from the inside of the automobile in danger when an accident occurs. <P>SOLUTION: An engaging tongue plate which omits a part to be mounted on a seat of an inner belt of the tightening device 1 of a seat belt and is provided with a tongue having the same shape as a tongue of a tongue plate 4 of a fastener on a mate side during use instead is newly formed and is connected with a part left after cutting so as to replace freely. Moreover, an exclusive H-shaped tongue plate is provided on the fastener to use it instead of the tongue plate during use. Next, a protruding part 24 is provided by hanging it down on a ceiling inside a lock case 2 of the tightening device. On the other hand, a U-shaped recessed part in which the protruding part slides and is inserted and fitted movably is formed on an outer ceiling of a release button 20 to knock and stop it on a wall in an innermost part of the U-shaped recessed part when retracting.
