PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chest type roll ironer for laundry which is easily produced, easily controls a temperature distribution on a trowel surface, provides uniform contact with the peripheral surface, and enables the contact pressure to be easily adjusted. SOLUTION: The chest type roll ironer includes a division structure, wherein a plurality of pieces 1 which are thin and long in a chest width direction are connected in the tangential direction of the trowel surface (the passage direction of a cloth). Each piece includes through-holes 3 opening in a longitudinal direction (the chest width direction), and covers are fixed at both the ends of each piece 1 in the longitudinal direction. The piece 1 integrally comprises connection flanges 4, at the outside of both the ends, which are projected outward in a radial direction. The connection flanges 4 of the adjacent pieces are mutually fastened by connecting fixtures which provides elasticity in a fastening direction. Temperature (steam pressure, oil temperature, and gas temperature, etc.), can be changed on the trowel surface depending on places. The required number of pieces are added or reduced, so that an ironing distance is easily changed by purpose. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
