PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate problems of a conventional grease intercepter, including a problem of a considerably heavy weight of a residue cage which is set near a drain surface (at a low location) of a cage, thereby making it difficult to lift the residue cage at the time of collecting residue, the heavy weight including the weight of the cage formed of stainless steel and the weight of the residue, and a problem of clogging of a drain pipe on an exit side of the grease intercepter and increased load on a septic tank and a reservoir tank, the clogging being caused by fewer frequency of cleaning work of a mesh of the residue cage, the cleaning work for removing oils and fats adhering to the mesh of the residue cage, being expected to be carried out on a regular basis by kitchen staff but seldom performed due to no provision of a cleaning space in a kitchen and the cumbersome nature of the work, resulting in that the cage is likely to be left without cleaning due to the cumbersome nature of the work. SOLUTION: There is provided a new residue collecting device comprised of a net 2 which is fine-meshed and stretchable, at an inflow portion of the grease intercepter as a means for collecting residue mixed in drain, in place of the conventional residue cage, and therefore the device has a function of collecting even fine residue. Further, the net is easily detachable by virtue of bond properties between hook-and-loop fasteners 3 and each mesh of the net. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
