<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving cloth for heat-melting type thermal transfer recording excellent in transfer properties during thermal recording, washing resistance of a recorded image, and heat resistance and a recording method using the cloth. <P>SOLUTION: In the receiving cloth for heat-melting type thermal transfer, an ink receiving layer for receiving ink melted or softened by heat is formed on one surface of a support of a fabric or a nonwoven fabric, and a tackifying layer is formed on the other surface. The ink receiving layer comprises hollow particles having at least gas inside and a thermoplastic substance.
