FISHES WITH ENHANCED RESISTANCE TO ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transgenic fish having enhanced resistance to environmental stress.

SOLUTION: This transgenic fish having the enhanced resistance to the environmental stress is obtained by expressing a transcription factor for activating stress-responsive gene groups. The heat shock transcription gene derived from a zebrafish, or its variant gene having the gene a part of which is deleted is linked to a human cytomegalovirus promoter, and the linked product is incorporated into a victor. The vector is microinjected to a fertilized egg to express the heat shock transcription factor in a grown fish. The fish, the tissue fragment or the cultured cell is used for analysis of environmental response or stress resistance.
