PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side cutting die which generates no hair-like residue, performs clean working and cutting a long slit without a seam without causing a catch with a slit piece at the time of feeding a sheet material. SOLUTION: A punch 1 has a punching edge 3 and a slitting edge 4 aligned in the side cutting direction. The die 2 has a edge intrusion port 5 in a through state to allow the intrusion of these edges 3, 4. The punching edge 3 of the punch 1 protrudes to the die 2 side with a step from the slitting edge 4, and the tip end of the boundary side with the slitting edge 4 serves as a punching edge 3a. The slitting edge 4 has a tilting part 4a protruding to the die 2 side, as approaching from the end in opposition to the punching edge 3 to the punching edge 3, and a flat part 4b continuing from the tilting part to the punching edge 3 side and becomes substantially constant in the protruding height. The edge intrusion port 5 of the die 2 is partitioned by a partition wall 6 in the middle in the side cutting direction with one partitioning hole serving as a punching through hole 5a for allowing the punching edge 3 to intrude the one partitioning hole.
