PURPOSE: A driving device of a solenoid coil is provided to improve the reliability of the system by insulating power applied to the solenoid coil with forcibly turning the fail-safe relay off and alarming to a driver in detecting failure of the fail-safe relay. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid coil driving device is composed of a microcomputer(21) controlling an anti-lock brake system; a driving unit(23) controlling a fail-safe relay(20) for regulating direct current applied to the solenoid coil by receiving a control signal from the microcomputer; a switching unit(22) regulating output power of the solenoid coil; and a voltage detecting unit(24) detecting voltage at both ends of the fail-safe relay. The microcomputer decides failure condition of the fail-safe relay based on voltage difference detected from the voltage detecting unit. The reliability is improved by forcibly turning off the fail-safe relay at failure and alarming to the driver.
