PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for coating, capable of directly being applied on a hard-to-coat plastics, and excellent in preservation stability, appearance, adhesion, oil resistance, solvent resistance, etc. SOLUTION: This resin for coating consists of (a) a chlorinated polyolefin having≤50 mass % chlorine content and (b) a vinyl-based monomer mixture, and has a mass ratio of the components (a) to (b), (a)/(b) in a range of (0.5/99.5)-(90/10). The component (b) consists of (I) 0.1-10 mass % Si-containing vinyl-based monomer having a specific structure, (II) 30-99.8 mass % (meth) acrylic acid ester having a specific structure and (III) 0.1-60 mass % another copolymerizable vinyl-based polymer [the total of the components (I)-(III) is 100 mass %].
