PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibody which selectively inhibits or promotes the different activities of TNF-α. SOLUTION: A ligand, such as a monoclonal antibody, specific to the different topographic regions of the TNF-α. When the ligand is bound to TNF, tumor regression, the induction of endothelial procoagulant, the induction of tumor fibrin deposition, cytotoxicity, and the activity of receptor bonding are selectively influenced. As the preferable examples of the ligand, antibodies, F(ab) fragments, reconstituted antibody (CDR-planted human antibody), single domain antibodies (dAbs), single strand antibodies, serum-bound proteins, and receptors are cited.
