<p>2-(1-Indanylidene)-3-oxo-alkanoic acid derivatives (I) (including esters, amides and nitriles) are new. Indanylidene compounds of formula (I) are new. [Image] R 1- R 4H, 1-20C alkyl or 5-10C cycloalkyl; or 2-20C alkyl in which at least one CH 2is replaced by O, 3-20C alkenyl, 3-20C alkynyl or S'; or of R 1- R 4on adjacent C may together form optionally substituted 1-4C alkylene; S' : silane, oligosilane or polysiloxane group; R 5- R 8H, 1-20C alkyl, 5-10C cycloalkyl, 1-20C alkoxy, 5-10C cycloalkoxy, OH, acetoxy, acetamino, COOH, alkoxycarbonyl or carbamoyl; or 2-20C alkyl in which at least one CH 2is replaced by O, 3-20C alkenyl, 3-20C alkynyl or S'; or two of R 5- R 8on adjacent C may together form a 5-7 membered ring containing up to 3 heteroatoms (specifically O or N) and optionally substituted by exocyclic =O (keto); X : CN, CON(R) 2or COOR; R : H or 1-4C alkyl; n : 0 or 1. If n is 1 then R 9- R 11= H, 1-20C alkyl, 5-10C cycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl; or two of R 9- R 11together form a 3-7 membered ring optionally containing up to 3 heteroatoms (specifically O or N); if n is 0 then CR 9R 10= aryl or heteroaryl.</p> |
