PURPOSE: To make an overdischarge prohibiting equipment easily adaptable to various kinds of loads of a wide range of magnitude by a method wherein a voltage at a specified point which depends on a load current which changes according whether a load is light or heavy is detected and a voltage value which prohibits discharging can be changed based on the detected voltage. CONSTITUTION: An overdischarge detecting circuit 10 first compares a terminal voltage of a battery 100 with a threshold voltage. When the terminal voltage of the battery 100 becomes lower than the threshold voltage, the circuit 10 determines that the battery 100 overdischarges and then it turns a switch 20 off. By this, the connection between a load 200 and the battery 100, both of which are connected between a positive side load current line 50p and a negative side load current line 50n, is cut off and thereby discharging is prohibited. In the overdischarge detecting circuit 10, the voltage which turns the switch 20 off, that is, the terminal voltage which prohibits discharging, can be adjusted depending on the current which flows into the circuit from a voltage/current converting circuit 30. By this method, the overdischarge detecting can adapt itself to various kinds of loads of a wide range of magnitude. |
