PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a solid electrolytic capacitor provided with a thermal fuse which goes out when the temperature rises and, at the same time, to increase the capacitance of the capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A recess 13 for receiving the anode bar 11b of a capacitor element 11 is provided in one end face of a molded section 12 packaging the element 11 and a film-like thermal fuse 14 is inserted into the recess 13 so that the fuse 14 can be connected to the bar 11b. Then a cathode-side terminal electrode film 17 is formed on the other end face of the section 12 so that the film 17 can be connected to the capacitor chip 11a of the element 11 and an anode-side terminal electrode film is formed on the end face of the section 12 where the recess 13 is formed so that the electrode film can be connected to the fuse 14.
