PURPOSE:To provide an image copying method and a device for it which can correct gradation property of a printing means and obtain excellent regenerated images. CONSTITUTION:A test pattern image which generates a density value of an image to be generated is previously stored in a pattern generating device 114. Based on the test pattern image stored in the pattern generating device 114, a test pattern is printed on a recording paper. The test pattern printed on the recording paper is read and stored in an image memory 112. Based on an image signal stored in the image memory 112, a printing property by a print head 111 is obtained, a correcting data corresponding to the printing property is obtained and stored in a backup RAM 115. In accordance with the contents of the RAM 115, an image data to be outputted to the print head 111 is corrected by gamma at a gamma correction circuit 109. |
