PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with a blue laser beam by incorporating a porphyrin compound represented by a specific formula in a record layer. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium comprises a substrate and a record layer containing a porphyrin compound represented by a specific formula. As the substrate, a material which is transparent to a laser beam is preferable, and a glass or a plastic is used. In the formula representing the porphyrion compound, as each of substitutents represented by R<1> to R<4> , a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group such as a methyl group, ethyl group, n-propyl group or the like is used, as each of substituents represented by X<1> to X<8> , a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group such as a methyl group, ethyl group, n-propyl group, isopropyl group or the like, alkoxy group, alkylcarbonyl group or the like is used, wherein all of the X<1> to X<8> do not become a non-substituted alkyl groups. Further, as M, a hydrogen atom or a metal atom is used. Thus, a light resistance and a heat resistance can be improved at low cost. |
