PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which does not have a communication interface exclusively for a strobe, in which communication interfaces are integrated to attain simplicity and a camera enclosure is downsized and the cost is reduced and by which a user can control an external strobe without feeling stress and a sense of incongruity. SOLUTION: A digital camera 100 transfers a control signal to control operations of at least one strobes (102, 103) and an image signal outputted from an imaging means through a single USB, in the case of imaging with strobe emission by using the strobes (102, 103), the transfer of the image signal is tentatively stopped and the control signal with respect to the strobes (102, 103) is transferred with precedence over other signals.
