PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily measure the specific gravity of an object whose specific gravity is 1 or less. SOLUTION: An auxiliary tool 21 for measuring specific gravity has a cage- like frame body 22 where the bottom section and both the side sections are open, a thin-diameter operation mallet 23 connected to the upper section, and a grip section 24 connected to the operation mallet 23, and an object to be measured is used while being moored in the frame body. Additionally, the auxiliary tool 21 for measuring specific gravity is formed by a material having large specific gravity so that the object to be measured is moored inside the frame body 22 due to the dead weight and can be dipped into liquid, and a number of holes are formed in the frame body 22 so that adhered bubbles can be removed and water is drained off fully and rapidly. Then, the lower surface is cut and arranged at the same position so that the frame body 22 does not fall even if it is placed on a plane. The operation mallet 23 is formed fully thinly near a water surface so that a measurement error due to a volume change can be ignored caused by a position to the water surface, and the grip section 24 can be gripped easily by an operator.
