<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving a plasma display panel capable of performing stable write discharges with a low voltage. <P>SOLUTION: A voltage waveform to be applied to electrodes X during a write period is provided with a period in which the potential difference between a write electrode and a counter transparent electrode is small, a period following the previous period in which the potential difference between the write electrode and the counter transparent electrode is at a middle level, and a period further following the previous period in which the potential difference between the write electrode and the counter transparent electrode is large. The potential difference in the period in which the potential difference between the write electrode and the counter transparent electrode is small, is made smaller than the potential difference in the conventional driving method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
