PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor for and simplify a process for importing a hand-drawn image into a structured text/graphic editor. SOLUTION: An image on a hand-written page 12 is input to a scanner 14 which converts the image on page 12 into an electronic bitmapped image 16. The bitmapped image 16 is displayed on a screen 18 of an electronic device 20. An image generation software, loaded on the electronic device 20, can be used to generate a bitmapped or digital ink image for use by a converter system 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
