摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a spark plug capable of well assuring peel-off resistance of a rare-metal wear-resistant part welded and joined to an electrode material, even in the case of a temperature cycle of a large hysteresis due to severe operating conditions. SOLUTION: A rare-metal chip 32' with Pt as a main component is welded at a position, facing a spark discharge gap g of the electrode material 4a, of a ground electrode 4 with its electrode material 4a made of metal mainly consisting of Ni or Fe to form a rare-metal wear-resistant part 32. The rare- metal chip 32' is overlapped on the surface of the electrode material 4a and is resistance welded. The overlapped face of the rare-metal chip 32' on the electrode material 4a is adjusted to an arithmetic mean roughness of 1 to 100μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
