PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve glass wettability and adhesion of an oxide film, to enhance sealing performance of a panel pin, to prevent the occurrence of a glass crack, to restrain mislanding of an electron beam caused by a shortage of sealing strength of the panel pin, and to improve a manufacturing yield. SOLUTION: The oxide film is formed in at least a glass sealing part of the panel pin 1 for holding a shadow mask or an aperture grill. (1) The panel pin is 10μm or less in a waviness component Wt in surface roughness measurement on the oxide film. (2) The panel pin is 0.1 to 3μm in arithmetic means roughness Ra, and is 2 to 14μm in ten-point average roughness Rz in the surface roughness measurement on the oxide film. (3) The panel pin is 0.1 to 3μm in the Ra in the surface roughness measurement on the oxide film, and is larger in the arithmetic means roughness (the Ra outside) of a sealing part outside surface of the panel pin than the Ra inside of a sealing part inside surface of the panel pin.
