PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a double winding brake band in which rapid torque transmission at fastening is restrained and speed change control is easy. SOLUTION: On a friction material 5 in close contact with an inner peripheral face of an intermediate band 3, an inclination 21 is provided so that the thickness of the friction material is gradually increased along the rotating direction of a rotating drum 11 from an end 22 of the friction material toward the inner diameter side.
