<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anionic surface sizing agent for paper making, capable of suppressing ink-running and feathering, each happened in inkjet printing or the like, by a normal coating amount of the sizing agent even when coated on paper containing ink-removed waste paper pulp, to provide printing paper using the agent, and to provide a method for producing the printing paper. <P>SOLUTION: This anionic surface sizing agent for paper making is a polycarboxylic acid type one having a hydrophobic group and containing a fatty acid or its salt. The fatty acid and its salt can be contained by performing polymerization of a hydrophobic group-containing polycarboxylic acid type polymer in the presence of a fatty acid or its salt or by synthesizing a hydrophobic group-containing polycarboxylic acid type polymer and adding a fatty acid or its salt therein. Or the fatty acid and its salt can be contained, when sizing the surface, by adding a fatty acid or its salt into the anionic surface sizing agent and sizing the surface therewith. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
