<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generating apparatus which supplies a current to a battery, etc., by using a magnet generator as a power source and can control the characteristics of the generator in various ways by changing a field applied to a power generating coil. <P>SOLUTION: A rectifying/switching circuit 2, comprising diodes Du-Dw and Dx-Dz which are connected with each other into a bridge and switching devices Fu-Fw and Fx-Fz which are connected in reverseparallel with the diodes, is provided between a magnet generator 1 and a load 3. A switch controller 4 which controls the rectifying/switching circuit so as to apply AC control voltages with prescribed phases to power generating coils Lu-Lw from a battery B<SB>1</SB>included in the load 3 via the rectifying/switching circuit 2.
