<p>Flat products (10) are fed to the reception region (18) by means of the conveying device (16). Arranged under the conveying device (16) is a transfer conveyor (22) which has individually controllable clamps (20) articulated on a wheel-like supporting member (30). The clamps (20) are controlled in such a way that, in the reception region (18), the clamp jaw (26) is directed forwards, as seen in the direction of rotation (U). In the reception region (18), the clamp (20) drops level with the product (10) and grasps the latter at the trailing edge (10'). During rotation about the axis of rotation (24) in relation to the transfer region (28), the clamp (20) is pivoted in the direction (S) opposite to the direction of rotation (U).
