PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge generation layer which has photoconductive materials at a high density and is free of limitation in sizes in manufacturing process. SOLUTION: The charge generation layer characterized in that polymeric particulate layers containing polymeric particulates being core-shell type microspheres consist of a single layer or laminated layers of a plurality of layers and that the core-shell type microspheres are the polymeric particulates having functional layers consisting of functional groups having a charge generation function on the outer peripheral parts and internally having adsorption layers possessing the charges to the extent of being adsorbed by electrostatic interaction is provided.
