The heavy vehicle comprises a loading compartment and a rigid front and rear structure with a roof between them. A frame supporting the roof cover is constituted from two side frames (5) and two top cross members (6). The frame is supported on adjustable height corner stays (7). A rigid sheet metal skirt (10) covers the upper face of the structure and hides the space between the upper edge of the structure and the lower edge of the cross members.
