PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide type wavelength splitter in which a polarization mode dispersion is suppressed. SOLUTION: An influence of the wave mode dispersion is suppressed by connecting main bodies of optical waveguide type wave splitter bodies 12, 13a and 13b by using polarization maintaining optical fibers 11 so that an influence of the X-polarized wave and the Y-polarized wave of light which propagate in the main bodies of optical waveguide type wave splitter bodies 12, 13a, and 13b is cancelled out. Further, the characteristic is controlled by arranging a heater 90 in a casing 81 in the case where the main bodies of the optical waveguide type wavelength splitter bodies 12, 13a and 13b are housed in the single casing 81.
