<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance, inexpensive and long polarizing plate which consists of an obliquely stretched polarizing film capable of improving the yield in a polarizing plate stamping step and has only a small dispersion in performance such as transmittance, a polarization degree or the like, and to provide a method for manufacturing the polarizing film and a liquid crystal display device using the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The long polarizing film is provided of which the absorption axis is neither in parallel nor perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, the polarization degree is 90% or higher at 550 nm, the single plate transmittance is 35% or higher at 550 nm, the dispersion of the in-plane polarization degree is ±0.5% or smaller and the dispersion of the single plate transmittance is ±0.5% or smaller.
