PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of surely preventing image missing even at a consecutive shot. SOLUTION: An image signal from an image processing section 22 is fed to recording sections 41, 42 respectively through switches 61, 62. A CPU 65 monitors the residual capacity of the recording sections 41, 42, controls controllers 63, 64 when the residual capacity of the recording section during recording reaches a prescribed setting capacity or below, and allows the switches 61, 62 to select not only the recording section making recording but also the other recording section thereby allowing both the recording sections 41, 42 to record the image signal. When the residual capacity reaches zero, the recording to the recording section is stopped. Thus, the imaging apparatus can record the image signal at consecutive shots. Further, the recording to the other recording section is stated before the recording of the one recording section is finished, and since the recording to the other recording section is made stable at the end of switching of a recording destination, no image missing takes place.
