PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head suspension assembly which prevents a suspension, etc., from deforming owing to heat from a head IC and a magnetic disk drive equipped with the same. SOLUTION: The head suspension assembly has an arm 26 and the suspension 28 which has a base end part fixed to the arm and extends from the arm and an opening part 50 which extends penetrating the arm and suspension is formed in the arm and the base end part of the suspension. A trace 32 is provided on the arm and suspension and extends opposite the opening part. On the external surface of the trace, a heat radiation plate 36 is fitted and extends opposite at least the opening part. In the opening part, the head IC 37 is provided and electrically connected to a wiring pattern 43 of the trace. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
