<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimisting additive for silicone coating material compositions, for reducing the formation of aerosol in rapid coating processes, readily miscible with the silicone coating material compositions and not impairing the compositions. <P>SOLUTION: This antimisting additive consists of an alkyl-functional siloxane copolymer prepared, in a 1st step, by reacting a compound (1) of the formula: R<SP>2</SP>(CR<SP>3</SP>=CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>x</SB>with an organosiloxane (2) having terminal Si-bound hydrogen atoms in the presence of a catalyst (3) which promotes the addition of the Si-bound hydrogen atoms onto aliphatic double bonds, and in a 2nd step, reacting the resulting hydrocarbon-siloxane copolymer with anα,ω-dialkenylsiloxane polymer (4) in the presence of the same catalyst (3), and optionally in a 3rd step, equilibrating the resulting siloxane copolymer with a given organopolysiloxane (5). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
