<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent another person's 'spoofing' which arises a problem in personal authentication by means of personal information, such as a name, an address, a date of birth, etc., an ID and a password, identify the person with a high precision, and allow a highly precise personal authentication without putting, into a database, biometrics information which must be kept in confidence. <P>SOLUTION: The storing places for personal information and biometrics information are separately used. From an IC card having stored therein both the information, the biometrics information is read and compared with biometrics information directly inputted by an individual, so that an input person is authenticated to be an owner of the IC card. At the same time the personal information is read from the IC card and compared with the personal information stored in the database, thus authenticating the justification of the IC card, and realizing the personal authentication with high precision. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
